Dr. Kari Sahan
Honorary Norham Fellow
Member of the consultancy and training team at Oxford EMI. Her work at Oxford EMI focuses on training university lecturers to teach successfully through EMI (English Medium Instruction).
Holds a DPhil (PhD) in Education from the University of Oxford, Department of Education. Her research focuses on EMI in Higher Education, language education policy, and classroom interaction. She is also a Lecturer in Second Language Education at the University of Reading.
Dr. Sahan was part of the Oxford EMI team working on the recent "Evaluation of EMI in Higher Education" project for the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. This evaluated progress made in EMI by universities in the BEST programme which aims to develop bilingual education in the Higher Education sector to create bilingual professionals. Dr. Sahan contributed to evaluating EMI provision in 28 universities across Taiwan.
